01 / The Brief
OLLY MURS: INTO THE UNKNOWN
In house at UNICEF UK to project manage their latest endurance challenge event.
UNICEF UK needed a project lead to take an ambitious celebrity fundraising challenge from concept through to live delivery. Olly Murs: Into the Unknown would see Olly travel more than 400km from Old Trafford to London Stadium over five days, combining running, cycling and rowing to raise funds for Soccer Aid for UNICEF. The brief was to bring together the many moving parts required to make that happen: developing the route and daily schedule, with the operational delivery partner along side coordinating other specialist delivery partners, suppliers, sponsors and support teams, managing logistics and equipment, supporting partner and fundraising activity. Also to and work alongside ITV and content teams to ensure the story of the challenge could be captured throughout. With multiple stakeholders, disciplines and locations changing every day, the role was ultimately about creating a single, workable delivery plan — and then managing the people, partners and practical detail needed to get Olly from Manchester to London.
